The new Audi A5 and the Audi Q2 both have been awarded a five-star safety rating from EURO NCAP. They are now regarded as one of the safest vehicles in their respective segment. Both the vehicles have received a top grade in adult safety, child safety, pedestrian protection and other safety systems.

The new Audi Q2 now features the emergency braking assist system as standard which is a part of the Audi Pre Sense front system. It observes other vehicles and pedestrians nearby and if there is a possibility of collision, the driver is first warned, and if mandatory, the vehicle applies the brakes automatically.

The new Audi A5 Coupe and A5 Sportback are equipped with the standard Audi Pre Sense city, which prevents any major collision. The Audi Pre Sense city works at a speed of up to 85 km/h and makes use of a windshield mounted front camera to scan vehicles and pedestrians. If a collision is imminent, the driver is first warned and if necessary, the brakes are applied.

The Audi A5 also features other safety systems including collision avoidance assist and turn assist. The collision avoidance assist helps in driving around an incoming obstacle, while the turn assist aids in turning the car across the flow on traffic.
