2022 Acura Integra Revives Decades-Old Nameplate, Boasting Dashing Looks, Advanced Tech

Acura has revived its 36 years old nameplate Integra boasting outstanding looks, advanced tech, and ample power. It will hit the showrooms in spring wearing an approximate price tag of $30,000.

Engine

The new Integra employs a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder generating 200 horsepower (149 kilowatts) and 192 pound-feet (260 Newton-meters), mating to standard CVT. Those looking for a manual transmission can top for the A-Spec performance package that offers rev-matching and a limited-slip differential.

A-Spec Package

Besides the performance enhancements, the A-Spec also includes gloss black trims for the window surrounds and the front and rear fascia along with a little spoiler on the back decklid. Other add-ons you get comprise 18-inch wheels with a Shark Gray finish, LED fog lights, stainless steel pedal caps, red gauge needles, and opposing sewing for the upholstery.

The interior gets a standard 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with faux leather upholstery, heated front seats, an eight-way power adjustment for the driver. Buyers can order the upholstery in Ebony, Red, and Orchid.

In addition, the AcuraWatch suite of safety tech encompasses collision mitigating braking, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The CVT variant also has Traffic Jam Assist.

Technology Package

If the A-Spec package isn’t enough to impress you, you can upgrade to the A-Spec with Technology Package. It has everything you find in the A-Spec plus the adaptive dampers with Comfort, Normal, and Sport modes as well as an Individual mode to allow you freely modify the settings for the steering, engine response, and suspension.

The Technology Package upgrades the infotainment to a 9.0-inch display supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Alexa. The package also adds a 5.3-inch head-up display.

Furthermore, the driver gets a 12-way power seat with two-position memory, while the front occupant can benefit from the four-way power adjustment. The Tech Package also upgrades to a 16-speaker stereo, three Type C USB ports, a wireless charging pad, and LED ambient lighting The safety credentials improve through the front and rear parking sensors and low-speed braking control.

Integra Non-Fungible Token

Surprisingly, the first 500 buyers of Integra will receive the standard variant of the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) showing the car. After they take the delivery, this NFT improves to a 3D NFT made by artist Andreas Wannerstedt

The automaker also plans to create a digital showroom for the nameplate in the Metaverse on March 22, named Acura of Decentraland. Here people could see the next-generation Integra along with other vehicles virtually.

The company will start production of the 2022 Acura Integra at its plant in Marysville, Ohio, where it also creates the TLX.
