2024 Cadillac XT4 Is Revamped And Ready To Roll

The Cadillac XT4, General Motors’ latest subcompact crossover offering, has undergone a transformative update and is set to reach dealerships this summer. We’re getting a glimpse now of what to anticipate once this model debuts in showrooms. The Chevrolet Trailblazer and Buick Encore GX updates recently premiered to similar fanfare, but it’s the interior overhaul that sets these models apart.

Gone is the antiquated button-riddled dashboard, as the XT4’s new interior boasts a single sweeping display screen. This screen not only encompasses a new digital instrument cluster but also doubles as the center infotainment system. Glinting with an impressive 9K resolution, this display measures a whopping 33 inches diagonally. The system takes its inspiration from the Lyriq, another Cadillac offering, and even features a slight curve toward the driver. This curve enhances visibility and puts even more control in the driver’s hands.

In keeping with the sweeping display screen, the 2024 XT4 offers a litany of new features accessible via a customizable user interface. This interface serves as the gateway to a plethora of Google-based functionalities, all easily controlled through voice commands or touch. The user interface seamlessly integrates with tactile controls scattered throughout the interior. Near the shift stalk, a rotary dial offers even more functionality for the infotainment system. Depending on trim level and package choices, the interior design and decor options are vast. Choose from a slew of new colors, wood trims, carbon fiber finishes, and aluminum accents to bring your vision to life.

For those braving cold weather, a heated steering wheel and seats are included in the cold weather package. Higher trim levels offer even more luxurious touches, like ventilated massaging seats. The 2024 XT4 is also well-equipped with driver-assist and safety systems. Over a dozen of these systems come standard, including rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam light control, and lane-departure warning. In terms of audio, Cadillac debuts an available 13-speaker AKG Studio stereo system, sure to delight even the most discerning audiophile.

Cadillac’s Active Safety Package is an optional add-on that provides an impressive array of safety features, including adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, pedestrian alerts, speed limit assist, traffic sign recognition, and more. Unfortunately, this package is only available on higher-level XT4 trims. However, there are still a host of features that come standard across all trim levels. For example, the XT4 boasts 5G connectivity and a power liftgate, among other things.

From a visual perspective, differentiating the new XT4 from older models may prove difficult, though not impossible. A keen eye will notice sharper, thinner LED running lights mounted vertically at the corners, as well as a revised set of standard-issue LED headlights now repositioned to the corner vents. These changes sit atop a retextured lower fascia that retains the general shape of the outgoing model.

At the rear, the fascia receives a redesign that repositions the previously horizontal reflectors vertically. In terms of aesthetics, new wheel options are available. Under the hood, the XT4 remains unchanged, with its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine still making a robust 235 horsepower fed through a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The 2024 XT4 is available in three different trim levels – the base-model Luxury, mid-level Premium Luxury, and range-topping Sport. However, the automaker has yet to announce pricing details, leaving prospective buyers to speculate on the cost. While the starting price remains a mystery for now, it’s worth noting that the 2023 XT4 Luxury, for comparison, began at $37,490, which includes destination charges. It remains to be seen how this year’s model will compare. Will Cadillac continue its trend of affordable luxury, or will the latest XT4 come at a steeper cost? We’ll have to wait and see.

P.S: Please note the new model will come here in the UAE as a 2023 model.
