The Kia Telluride is one of the best three-row SUVs in America. It came in 2018 and soon accumulated a huge fan following. The automaker unveiled the 2023 Telluride at the New York Auto Show boasting a new exterior design, more tech, and two tough-looking trim levels.

Exterior Design

Speaking of the changes upfront, the new 2023 Kia Telluride gets revised LEDs with optional LED fog lamps. The bumper design is fresh as well, adding more assertive detailing on top and carved parts or a heavy gray insert underneath, as per the variant, you select. The universal “Tiger Nose” grille is there with new matching black mesh.

The rear design is cleaner than before featuring a new bumper styling and new taillight inserts with shiny vertical LED strips. Kia added Midnight Lake Blue, Dawning Red, and Jungle Wood Green to the pallet as well as new wheel designs for every trim level.

X-Line and X-Pro

The muscular-looking X-Line and X-Pro variants join the party. Same as for the Sportage, these variants augment the styling with some off-road elements. For the X-Line, Kia adds a new grille, roof rails, trim-specific wheels, and a 0.4-inch (10-millimeter) ride height increase.

On the other hand, the X-Pro has everything we get from the X-Line, in addition to 18-inch wheels covered in all-terrain tire and an enhanced towing prowess of 5,500 pounds, versus 5,000 pounds.

Powertrain

The power comes from the old 3.8-litre pumping out 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The mill mates to an eight-speed automatic transmission powering the front wheels. The All-Wheel-Drive is optional. Kia introduces a new Downhill Brake Control system, offering the drivers more control while descending on steep roads and beaten paths.

Interior

You can witness the biggest changes inside, making the new Telluride more desirable. The 10.3 inches touchscreen is replaced by a fresh 12.3-inch display with navigation. The system now supports Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity and over-the-air updates. The head-up display also grows from 8.5 inches to 10.0 inches, with extra features.

Safety

Improving the safety credentials of the new Telluride, Kia has added some active safety systems. Expect the new SUV to get navigation-based cruise control, Highway Driving Assist 2, side collision avoidance, steering assist, and many other safety functions.

The 2023 Kia Telluride should hit the dealerships in the U.S. and UAE sometime this year. The pricing details will be revealed closer to its launch. For reference, the 2022 Telluride starts at AED 127,900 in the UAE.
