2023 Kia Niro PHEV Goes For $35,035 With 33-Mile Range

The Kia Niro has entered its second generation and is now accessible in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric flavors. After announcing the pricing of the Hybrid, the company has now revealed the costs of the Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) variant, which is now arriving at dealerships in the USA.

Here’s the breakdown of the pricing:

Both EX and SX Touring come equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder generating 104 horsepower (77 kilowatts) and 106.3 pound-feet (144 Newton-meters) and an electric motor. Combing the electric power with the combustion engine, the powertrain creates 180 hp (135 kW) and 195 lb-ft (265 Nm). A six-speed dual-clutch is standard.

The crossover gets an 11.1 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery that delivers 33 miles (53 kilometers) on a single charge. The SX Touring can cover 32 miles (52 kilometers) on the battery.

Regarding performance, the EX can 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 9.6 seconds while the SX is 0.2 seconds slower. The maximum speed also differs, with the EX achieving 104 mph and the SX topping out at 100 mph (161 kph).

 While the SX is slower to accelerate, it comes with various upgraded features such as 18-inch wheels instead of the 16-incher that are standard for the EX. Additionally, its side mirrors get

integrated turn signals and a power-folding system. It also has chrome trim on the door handles and on the bumper along with a power-open hatchback.

The interior facilities for the SX Touring include a sunroof and vegan leather upholstery, as well as a Harman Kardon eight-speaker stereo and LED lighting.
