The luxury automaker Lexus introduced the 2022 IS 500 F Sport Performance sedan at the start of this year featuring a powerful V8 engine generating 472 horsepower (352 kilowatts). Before the sports sedan hit the roads this fall, the company has announced its pricing details. The 2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance will start at $57,575 (including the $1,075 delivery fee).
That’s definitely a big price hike compared to the IS 350 F Sport, but do not forget the horsepower difference between the two F Sport models. In reality, the naturally aspirated 5.0-litre mill puts the IS in the league of BMW M3, the Mercedes-AMG C63 and the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing with pricing tens of thousands of dollars less.
Do not get us wrong; the 2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance is not as refined as the performance sports sedans we mentioned above. So, do not cross-shop it for these German sports models. Its genuine rivals are the Mercedes-AMG C43, the BMW M340i, the Audi S4, and the Cadillac CT4-V. To see how it fares against these, we have a table for you to examine.

So, here we can clearly see the 2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance beats all its rivals in power but it is also more expensive than its competitors.
Before we compare the IS 500 with other brands, perhaps we should first judge it with its little sibling the IS 350 F Sport. Costing $42,950 (excluding destination charges), the IS 350 is almost $14,000 cheaper.
That’s a big difference for a car that has the same bones. The only difference between these two performance sedans is the power boost and you can feel it when you push the throttle hard. So, we believe the closest rival of the IS 500 is the affordable IS 350.
