Ford unveiled the 2022 Bronco Raptor at the start of this year with a promise to generate more than 400 horsepower. The high-performance, off-road-ready SUV keeps the promise made by its creator by delivering 418 horsepower (311 kilowatts) and 440 pound-feet (596 Newton-meters) of torque.
Ford has fixed a twin-turbo EcoBoost 3.0-litre V6 mill under the hood, which we also find in the Explorer ST. However, this engine creates more power in the Bronco Raptor. Not only it is robust, but it also returns an excelling fuel economy rating. The estimated fuel efficiency is 15 miles per gallon in the city, 17 miles per gallon on the highway, and 15 miles per gallon combined.

Raptor Updates
The Bronco Raptor is a beacon for the Bronco nameplate as it comes with various upgrades to augment its off-road abilities. The off-ready-focused SUV boasts bigger front and rear driveshafts, updated Dana axles, an improved transfer case, and other enhancements such as a high-capacity clutch to aid in power management.
The automaker took inspiration from the Ultra4 Racing series to upgrade the Raptor’s suspension, offering 13.0 inches of front suspension travel and 14.0 inches of rear suspension travel.
The SUV comes with 13.1 inches of ground clearance, and there are sensors to observe the suspension height and modify damper settings on the go. The utility vehicle stands at a higher 8.6 inches and gets skid plates to protect the important components underneath.
Bronco Raptor vs. Wrangler Rubicon 392
While both the Bronco Raptor and Wrangler Rubicon 392 are highly capable off-roaders, the Raptor falls behind in the power delivery race. Against the Raptor’s 418 horsepower, the Rubicon 392 pumps out 470 hp (354 kW) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque through a 6.4-litre V8. However, the Rubicon 392 is more expensive than the Bronco Raptor. It sells at $78,690 minimum against the Raptor’s $69,995 starting price tag. Both prices comprise the destination fee. Since Wrangler is more powerful, it is less fuel-efficient than the Bronco Raptor, with 13 mpg city, 17 mpg highway, and 14 mpg combined.
We believe we should not compare the Bronco Raptor and the Wrangler Rubicon 392 on the power delivery numbers. Both the machines are perfect off-roaders, and Ford offers plenty of power to the Bronco Raptor to make it fun on any off-road excursion.
