The 2020 BMW X6 crossover coupe breaks cover with more power, tech and newly sculpted lines. The third-generation X6 is built on BMW Cluster Architecture (CLAR), which calls for new powertrains.

Both the base models, the sDrive40i and the xDrive40i, are powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six good for 335 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. Please note, this engine offers a 33 hp (25 kW) and 35 lb-ft (47 Nm) bump over the 2019 X6 SUV. The sprint to 96 km/h will take 5.2 seconds in the sDrive. The xDrive is just a 0.1 second slower than the xDrive.

Talking about the brawnier X6 M50i, it houses a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 pumping out 523 hp and 553 pound-feet of torque. It is an increase of 78 hp and 74 lb-ft over the 2019 model. Obviously, it can run faster to 96 km/h in 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 249 kilometer per hour — both the engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Those who want to spice things up a bit, BMW offers Dynamic Handling package for better performance and an offroad package for rugged driving. The latter adds a two-axle air suspension, an electronically regulated M Sport rear differential, and four specifically created off-road driving modes: snow, sand, gravel, or rocks.

Inside, the 2020 BMW X6 features new BMW Live Cockpit with iDrive. The package consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, allowing drivers to play with voice assistant features, innovative gesture controls, wi-fi, wireless charging, and Apple CarPlay.

The 2020 BMW X6 takes safety very seriously offering Active Driving Assistant, which includes radar cruise control for stop-and-go traffic, blind-spot detection, forward collision warning, and park distance control. The optional features comprise lane-keep assist, automatic lane-change assist, side-collision avoidance, and more.

The 2020 BMW X6 starts at $64,300 in the U.S., excluding destination charges. The xDrive40i costs $66,600, while the range-topping M50i sets you back $85,650. The 2019 X6 starts from AED 435,000 in the UAE. The pricing for the UAE will be revealed later.
