The second-generation BMW X3 has been in the market for long, pleading an update. The automaker has listened the imploring and finally revealed the third generation 2018 BMW X3, which has received some impressive new updates. How it would serve the customers? Let’s find out.
Up front, the 2018 BMW X3 features a large kidney grille with revised headlights, which look similar to the one found in the new 5 series sedan. The air intakes on the front bumper have been enlarged as well for a sporty look. The overall height of the all-new 2018 X3 has been lowered compared to the second-generation model, and at the back, new wider taillights have been fitted. The X3 M40i variant sports a split dual exhaust system, adding to the overall aggressive look of the car. On the inside, it includes the latest iDrive infotainment system.
The 2018 BMW X3 will be available in two trim levels namely – X3 xDrive30i and X3 M40i. The former is equipped with a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four cylinder unit, which develops 248 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It will allow the X3 to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds.
The X3 M40i is powered by a turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six cylinder unit, churning out 355 hp and 369 lb.-ft. It is capable of achieving the 100 km/h mark in 4.8 seconds.
Both the engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The pricing details have not been announced yet.
